The dextrose powder is a simple sugar obtained from corn starch. Simple sugars like dextrose are fast absorbing and therefore perfect for consumption when glycogen levels are low. After exercise, glycogen levels are at their lowest. Therefore, this is the ideal time to use dextrose powder. Using dextrose after a workout causes insulin levels to rise. This is also known as an insulin spike. This is the ideal time to supplement the dextrose with fast-acting proteins, as the insulin spike carries the essential amino acids and nutrients to the muscles.Besides post-workout, Dextrose can also be used before the workout. In the same way that dextrose creates an insulin spike during post-workout, it can also create it during pre-workout. This allows powerful nutrients such as arginine and branched-chain amino acids to reach the muscles and provide the energy you need to perform. Research indicates that dextrose can ideally also be used during workouts (intra-workout). That is why many performance-enhancing sports drinks such as Lucozade® and Powerade® contain dextrose.

Advised usage
Mix 1/2 scoop (approx. 25 g) with 100 ml of water. Take 1-3 servings daily, preferably before, during and after your workout.
